it depends if you are looking for serious or humour.
I would reccomend making a list of EVERYTHING you can think of and then putting it into a search engine to see what the hits are.
Its going to be difficult to come up with a truly original name as ther are so many groups about now a days.
But I think thats the best think to do. Have a brainstorm and see what you can come up with do it with the whole group of people involved and you may get more ideas!
Northern paranormal Investigation, NMN paranormal investigation Group, Spook Central, Phantom Detectives, Spooky Buisness, Odd Happenings…A few ideas but I do tend to like the humerous ones as it can break the ice.

Just a suggestion. Look around at all the acronyms used by paranormal sites. It will be more important that your internet site has the same name so take that into consideration.
Then get yourself affiliated with every team you can. Of course get some affiliation going with TAPS.
When people need help they usually aren’t shopping for the nearest group if they never heard of you so those affiliations will get you more work. Obviously they can’t go everywhere and only people working with demons travel very far.
I’ve tried and tried but I can’t get the name out of my head …something something ..lights whatever your team chooses should have the name lights at the end so the acronym should end in an ‘L’.

A touch of humor is okay, but it shouldn’t detract from the seriousness of the new science and discoveries possible. If my group proved ghosts exist, for instance, it shouldn’t go down in history as being done by the Goulie Ghostie Gang.

Well, you can come up with a descriptive name to keep it professional, like Northern Minnesota Paranormal Investigation Society or you could goof on it a bit. How about Ghosts Oh Geez! or the Uff da Paranormal Action Squad?
